Hello Heart&Stroke WalkaboutTM members!
We have exciting program updates to share with you. From a pedometer lending program and its related summer promotion to a quick questionnaire on walking events, there are numerous activities we’ve implemented over the past several months – and activities we’re exploring over the next several months – to strengthen the Walkabout ex
perience for members.
Pedometer lending
Whether you are looking for a pedometer or want to test the steps on a different one, the pedometer lending program may be just right for you. Nova Scotians can now borrow a pedometer at their local library or C@P site throughout the province. Find out more.
At the same time, you can also learn more about C@P’s summer walking challenge and how you can win great prizes!
Walking takes you places
We’ve teamed up with a number of radio stations across the province to help promote walking this summer. A number of stations are organizing walking challenges or taking part in pedometer give-aways to encourage us to move more this summer.
Participating stations include C100 FM (HRM); Kool 96.5(HRM); CKDH (Amherst); CKTO (Truro); CKEC (New Glasgow); The Giant 101.9 (Sydney); CJLS (Yarmouth); CKBW (Bridgewater); and Magic 94.9 (Annapolis Valley).

Walking events
We’re currently exploring whether there’s a role for Walkabout in supporting walkers who participate in non-fundraising walking events. Please take a few minutes before August 12 to fill out this short questionnaire about your interest and/or experience with walking events.
Show us where you walk - and win!
Grab your camera and your walking sneakers and hit your favourite places to walk in your community. We've enhanced the Routes section of the website, and we want to see where Nova Scotians are walking. Share your favourite walking route with us between August 17 and September 14, and we'll enter you in a draw to win one of five fabulous walking prize packages valued at $200!
