Heart&Stroke Walkabout TM is focused on supporting walking and re-discovering the joyful side of walking. We’ve teamed up with a number of radio stations across the province to help promote walking this summer. A number of stations are organizing walking challenges or taking part in pedometer give-aways to encourage us to move more this summer.
Participating stations include C100 FM (HRM); Kool 96.5(HRM); CKDH (Amherst); CKTO (Truro); CKEC (New Glasgow); The Giant 101.9 (Sydney); CJLS (Yarmouth); CKBW (Bridgewater); and Magic 94.9 (Annapolis Valley).

Kool FM - Halifax - Kool FM has teamed up with Heart&Stroke WalkaboutTM to host a fun summer walking challenge. You can sign up and track your steps for the month of July with the Kool Walking Group. You can win prizes valued up to $450 from Aerobics First and Nova Scotia Egg Producers.
Here are the details:
- Become a member of Heart&Stroke Walkabout and join the Kool FM Walking Group in the Group directory (you must be logged-in to view the group). Register here.
- Track your steps on the site for the month of July.
- A prize will be awarded for the person who tracks the most steps. Two prizes will also be drawn randomly from those who are registered in the Kool Walking Group, which means anyone has a chance to win.
- The winners will be announced on Kool 96.5 FM on July 31.
